Welcome to our Year 6 Class Page.

Miss Rutter is the class teacher with Mrs Ignacak supporting each morning. Mrs. Knowles also teaches the class on Wednesday to cover PPA.  

Homework will be given out on a Thursday and should be returned on a Wednesday for marking. Spellings will also be given out on a Friday to practise for the following week. They will be stuck in homework books, so they can be practised at home. Times Tables Rock Stars will also be used to set homework tasks throughout the year. Children will be informed when this happens. 

PE days are Wednesday and Friday and will be outdoors, weather permitting, so please ensure that your child comes to school wearing their PE kit on these days.

Please make sure you try to read daily at home!  If you read four times a week, and it is written in your reading diary you will get a table point each time. Children will have many opportunities to read in school time and this will be noted in their reading diary. 

Year 6 have had an amazing start to the year! They have all come back from Summer with a fantastic attitude - I know we will have a brilliant year! 

In the first week of school, we explored our new Literacy text – The Boy in Striped Pyjamas. Already, we have seen some wonderful character descriptions from Year Six, and we look forward to seeing more!
