Welcome to Hedgehogs' class page on the school website. Here you can see what exciting things we have been up to with Mrs Elliott and Mrs Foster!

This half term our topic is 'Marvellous Me'.

In Literacy we are looking at texts linked to our topic such as Funny Bones, The Tiger Who Came to Tea and Kipper's Birthday.

In phonics we are beginning to learn our phase 2 sounds. Some children have even impressed Mrs Elliott and Mrs Foster by beginning to segment and blend cvc words! We are also working hard upon being able to recognise our first set of high frequency words by sight!

In Numeracy we are working hard to recognise numbers to 10 and beyond. We are also working extremely hard practising our careful counting and our number formation. We have begun to name 2D shapes, identifying their properties and spotting them in our learning environment. We have also begun to start telling the time - some of the children have amazed Mrs Elliott with being able to identify and show 'o'clock' times!

In RE we are learning about how God loves each and every one of us, and how special we are. We have also celebrated how important our families are to us and how we are all unique.

Through Understanding of the World we are carrying out different experiments to answer our philosophical question, 'What makes me different?'

Watch out for photographs and information about our next topic - "All Aboard!"
