Every day counts in school. Time in school also keeps children safe and provides access to extra-curricular opportunities and pastoral care. That's why school attendance is so important.
Good attendance at school is not just valuable, it's essential. Going to school is directly linked to improved exam performance which should in turn lead to further learning opportunities. As well as this, going to school helps to develop: friendships.
Pupils who miss school frequently can fall behind with their work and do less well in school. Children who regularly miss school may also feel more socially isolated as a result.
Poor attendance can affect children's ability to make and keep friendships; a vital part of growing up. Setting good attendance patterns from an early age, from nursery through primary school will also help your child later on in their life.
