PE and School Sport Intent
At St Patrick’s Catholic Voluntary Academy our intent is for all children to leave our school happy, healthy and physically literate with an embedded knowledge of making healthy and active choices.
Physical activity is embedded within the school day via active breaks and an active curriculum, creating enthusiastic learners with healthy minds, healthy bodies and a love of being active.
Our children will experience a wide range of sports and physical activities to develop and apply a broad range of transferable skills. Our children will see how the skills and experiences they obtain link to their present and future lives within the school environment and in the wider world.
Children will enjoy communicating, collaborating and competing with each other whilst learning how to evaluate and recognise their own success. They will also learn how to become good winners and good losers through inclusive challenges and competitions.
Children at St Patrick’s Catholic Voluntary Academy will also be provided with the experiences to become confident and competent swimmers, with a great knowledge of being safe in different water-based situations.
